- Self-appointed expert. Lucky me, I live in a city with more than 250 Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants. I have always loved what I thought was Mexican food (turns out, it's Tex-Mex - thank you Diana Kennedy), and after living in exile for four years, I am now on a mission to try every plate of cheese enchiladas in Austin. I'll review them all in this blog, and incorporate pictures, relevant history, recipes, and links. Special thanks to Mike Hoke, who christened me "the Field Marshal of Cheese Enchiladas", and thus inspired this quest. Incidentally, every time I have taken one of those Meyers-Briggs personality tests, I get ENTJ - "the Fieldmarshal".

If you've got two days to drive or $200 for a one-way plane ticket, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better way to spend either than visiting La Sirenita in South East Baltimore. Bring your English-to-Spanish dictionary, cash, and your flak jacket.
